OVERVIEW:
A definitive history of the clan, incorporating a substantial body of detailed post-Elizabethan genealogical information.
There is a Readers' Forum so that additional information and tradition may be submitted in connection with this series; originally planned as a trilogy, a fourth volume is now in preparation, so that origins of all branches of the name can be included.
Volume 1: A New Insight upon Irish History
This volume looks at the mythological origins and rise of the clan O'Byrne, and re-assesses the importance of its best-known figure, Feagh MacHugh O'Byrne. Perhaps the major figure in Irish history of his period, the time has come for him to be viewed in the proper context of the national and international scene. The volume finishes with the destruction of the Byrnes' Country in the seventeenth century.
With extensive genealogical tables, full bibliography and index of places.
