THE BYRNES AND THE O'BYRNES
ORDER NOW - details below
This series has been produced over the course of a decade, requiring very detailed research, and it was completed with the publication of Volume 4.
This important work was originally to be published in just three volumes, detailed below; additional information and the decision to extend the scope to cover origins throughout Ireland meant that a fourth volume was required. The author has researched and collated a vast amount of genealogical material, much of which has been published for the first time. It has become clear that a great deal of additional material is preserved in private family archives and tradition, and that this ambitious work must be subject to revision. To this end, production makes use of “print-on-demand” technology and there is a moderated website to accept comment and information. The first two volumes were published Spring 2010, with Volume III in May 2012 and Volume IV to complete the series in May 2015. It is intended that the author will maintain the text in the light of such additional information as may be received; this means that possible future editions may be revised to include corrections and amendments. A small supplementary publication could also be made available if such updates arise.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Some details of each volume and the contents lists are given elsewhere on this site (just follow the links below), including onward links to the author's introduction to each volume. The work reflects extensive research and study and, inevitably, includes information about individuals and events which may be seen as challenging. It is hoped that individuals will respond if they have information or tradition which could augment or correct historical or genealogical content. The author has tried to avoid the inclusion of living persons in the genealogical tables except with prior consent.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Please bring this forthcoming publication to the attention of any Byrnes and O'Byrnes that you know. The success of the initial three volumes assisted in production of the final volume and it is hoped that ongoing interest will ensure that the series can be kept in print.
